Ara Gaya Cultural Festival

Haman, the home to the brilliant cultural heritage of the 500-year-old Ara Gaya!

Once the leader of the six Gaya states, to preserve the spirit and wisdom of Ara Gaya, Haman originally named a festival "Araje" and first held the festival in 1983. After gathering feedback from the community, on February 14, 2004, during the General Assembly of the Citizens' Day and Araje Committee, April 15 was officially designated as Citizens' Day.

In 2017, the festival name was changed to the "Haman Ara Cultural Festival" to better promote Haman, and it was held annually until 2019. However, the festival was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, the festivals name was changed again to the "Ara Gaya Cultural Festival," and starting in 2022, it was separated from the Citizens' Day celebrations and became a standalone event.

In 2023, the festival took place for 3 days from October 6 to 8, and for 2024, it is scheduled to be held from October 11 to 13.
